In spring, when rain and dew have wetted, a gentleman will feel terrified when walking on them, as if he is about to see it. Music is used to welcome, and sorrow is used to send off. Therefore, there is music in the sacrifices but no music in the tastings. Bring harmony inside and disperse harmony outside. On the day of the sacrifices: think about where he lives, think about his laughter, think about his aspirations, think about what he enjoys, and think about what he likes. After three days of sacrifices, you can see what he has done for harmony. On the day of sacrifice: when entering the room, one must see the position; when going out of the door, one must hear the voice; when going out of the door, one must hear the sigh. Therefore, the filial piety of the ancient kings is that the color does not forget the eyes, the sound does not stop in the ears, and the desires of the heart do not forget the heart. If you love, it will be preserved; if you are sincere, it will be remembered. If it is preserved and not forgotten in the heart, how can you not be respectful? A gentleman respectfully supports when he is alive and respectfully offers sacrifices to his dead, thinking that he will not be humiliated throughout his life. A gentleman has a lifelong mourning, which is the meaning of the anniversary of the death. Not using the anniversary of the death is not a bad omen. On the day of the death, one's mind is to reach a certain point, but he dare not use his private interests to the fullest. Only the sage can offer sacrifices to the emperor, and the filial son can offer sacrifices to his parents. Offering sacrifices means to pay respect. After paying respect, one can offer sacrifices. Therefore, the filial son does not feel ashamed when he is in front of the corpse. The king leads the sacrifice, and the lady offers the bowl. The king offers the corpse, and the lady offers the rice. The ministers assist the king, and the women assist the lady. Be respectful, be loyal, and be happy. Don't be too eager to entertain. King Wen's sacrifice: treat the dead as if they were alive, think of the dead as if they didn't want to live, mourn on the anniversary of the death, and mention the taboo as if you saw your parents. The loyalty of the sacrifice is like seeing the loved ones of the parents, and like the desire to express it; is it King Wen? The Book of Songs says: "I wake up in the morning and can't sleep, I have two people in my mind." This is King Wen's poem. The day after the sacrifice, I wake up in the morning and can't sleep, and I offer it to the deceased, and then I think about it. On the day of the sacrifice, there is half joy and half sorrow; the feast must be joyful, and the arrival must be sorrowful.

The End of the World

Sacrifice is a great thing, and it is a preparation for everything. Is it the root of education to follow the preparation? Therefore, the teaching of a gentleman is to teach people to respect their rulers and elders externally and to be filial to their parents internally. Therefore, when a wise ruler is above, all ministers obey; when the ancestral temples and the altar of the country are respected, the descendants are obedient and filial. Do your best and be upright in your righteousness, and the teaching will come into being. Therefore, when a gentleman serves his ruler, he must practice it himself. What he does not like in his superiors, he will not use his subordinates; what he hates in his subordinates, he will not serve his superiors; if he does not do it to others, he will do it to himself, which is not the way of teaching. Therefore, the teaching of a gentleman must start from its root and follow the ultimate, and sacrifice is it? Therefore, it is said: sacrifice is the root of education. There are ten relationships in sacrifice: the way to serve ghosts and gods, the righteousness between the ruler and the minister, the relationship between father and son, the distinction between the noble and the humble, the killing of relatives and strangers, the bestowal of titles and rewards, the difference between husband and wife, the balance of political affairs, the order of the old and the young, and the relationship between superiors and subordinates. These are the ten relationships.

Small Perfection

Zixia said: "The virtue of the three kings is comparable to that of heaven and earth. I dare to ask: how can it be said to be comparable to that of heaven and earth?" Confucius said: "Follow the three selfless things to work for the world." Zixia said: "I dare to ask what the three selfless things are?" Confucius said: "The sky covers without selfless things, the earth carries without selfless things, and the sun and the moon shine without selfless things. Following these three to work for the world is called the three selfless things. It is said in the Book of Songs: "The emperor's order is not violated, and it reaches Tang Qi. Tang descends without delay, and the saints respect each other day by day. Zhao takes time to grant, and God is respectful. The emperor's order is set in the nine circles. "This is the virtue of Tang. There are four seasons in the sky, spring, autumn, winter and summer, wind, rain, frost and dew, all of which are teachings. The earth carries spirits, spirits and winds, winds and thunders flow, and all things are born, all of which are teachings. When the body is clear and bright, the spirit and will are like gods, and the desires are about to come, and they must be opened first. The sky rains down, and clouds come out of the mountains and rivers. It is said in the Book of Songs: "Song is high and steep as the sky. Only the mountain descends the spirit, giving birth to Fu and Shen. Only Shen and Fu, only Zhou's Han. The four countries are in the frontier, and the four directions are in Xuan. 'This is the virtue of civil and military. The kings of the three dynasties must first make it known. The Book of Songs says: "The wise and enlightened emperor will make it known without stopping. 'This is the virtue of the three dynasties. 'Relax his civil virtues and coordinate these four countries. 'This is the virtue of the king.
